Rooted in Unity

Members of the South Side community gather to celebrate at Umoja Community Garden.

The garden is dedicated to promoting sustainable eating and living. Umoja, a Kiswahili word meaning unity, is part of Syracuse Grows, a network of gardens in the city that play a critical role in addressing inequalities in healthy food access within communities.
